Seasonal Events

In 2017, White Rose Farm is hosting five events to honor the seasons sponsored by White Rose Farm Circle. Inc.

May Day Celebration: Sunday, May 7, 2017

Click here for a slide show of our recent May Day Celebration. We enact an old-time Spring tradition in the country--weaving satin ribbons around the May Pole accompanied by the music of Artie and the Vipers. Beech Tree Puppets  again presented a short puppet show, Butterfly Wonder.

Barn Dance! Saturday, June 17, 2017, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

We danced an old-time barn dance in the chestnut barn at the farm. Caller Kim Forry called simple dances suitable for everyone! She will be accompanied by the New Southern Cowtippers (musicians Sandy Hofferth, Howard Zane, Shirley Echols and Fred Cherney.) playing old-time American songs and tunes.

Cost? $15/adult, $7.00/child, $30/family. Click here to register!

"The fireflies were spectacular. As we left the moon was rising and the last glimmer of sun was going down in the west. Thank you for the reminder of beauty in the simplicity of nature." Rebecca

 Salsa Party! Saturday, August 5, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Michael Campbell again taught salsa dancing on the concrete pad behind the barn. we will serve light fare,  including fresh salsa from tomatoes, onions and peppers fresh-picked from the farm

"The Salsa Party created such an enchanting atmosphere that even my hubby danced—that’s magic!"  Holly

Celebrate the Fall Equinox, Saturday, September 23, 5:00 p.m.

This year, Beechtree Puppets will present The Crystal Ball in the barn at the farm. Then we will enjoy the magic of this evening--the weaving of a performance in the barn, the gardens in fall, a fire circle and sharing. Bring food to share. The evening ends with people gathering around the fire singing and telling stories.

Thank you for opening your farm to us. We had a great time! Always enjoyable to see the Beech Tree Puppets! We especially enjoy warm company of you and your guests! Michelle

Drum Circle: Saturday, November 4, 2017, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Jacqui McMillan will again lead a drum circle to honor the ancestors. We will begin with a community altar, remembering loved ones--people and pets. We sing; we drum; we lift prayers skyward.

Thanks for a lovely evening. I enjoyed it very much. And I so needed it today as I really felt the need to be “cleansed”. The stars and the moon were so beautiful and all in all the time there was very grounding. Jacquie

Global Sisterhood Gathering

The farm will host a gathering as part of the Global Sisterhood, a world-wide movement empowering soulful women to embody leadership to promote peace and harmony on Monday, August 21 starting at 7:30 p.m. The event is free and we ask you to register here.
