In just a month, our farm season opens and visitors will see the farmhouse with a makeover! I am planning to welcome overnight guests come summer!

The farmhouse will be in good shape for the Global Sisterhood gathering to be held this Sunday from 2 to 4:00 p.m. with a potluck following the program. The gathering is free and open to all adult women. We do take donations to support women refugees. Click here for more information; click here to register.

Celebrate May Day on Sunday, May 6 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. ! Pick herbs and fresh flowers, make flower garlands, crowns and staffs and help us set up the May pole. Then join us as we weave satin ribbons around the May pole in the traditional dance accompanied by the live music of Artie and the Vipers.

Enjoy the story, "Butterfly Wonder," a lap puppet show delightfully told by Beech Tree Puppets. The May Day festivities are open to the public with the price of admission. A potluck meal follows the festivities for circle members. Bring your family and friends.

Event Admission: Adult/$12; Child/$6; Family/$30 (Circle members receive a 20% discount if they register ahead online. ) Register here.

Thalassa Mud Balls! Three of us made 25 dozen in less than two hours last night. I was inspired to help a friend who is acutely aware of the health of water. I had heard Steve Storch of Natural Science Organics tell how he had thrown biodynamic preparations in the Mississippi years ago. A friend downstream had noticed later that the river seemed clearer.

Steve sent me a supply of Thalassa Mix, a biodynamically enhanced sea-mineral supplement with 94 minerals. I mixed up a batch, and then diluted some in well water and set it to mixing in the Vortex Brewer I had bought from him years ago.

We poured the mix over farm soil and made small balls that looked like chocolate meringues. We imagine lots of people tossing them into streams and bodies of water with this blessing (or something similar): "May the healing energy of these hands and this heart bring healing energy to this water and all that it touches."

I am delighted to share this process and these Thalassa Mud Balls. Let me know of your interest and your experience!

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY: Thursday, March 8, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the farmhouse, 5009 Teeter Road. This year, we are encouraged to: "Envision every woman and man being deeply connected to the love within their hearts. Envision and feel the fear, pain and mistrust melt away so that we human beings begin to have compassionate and respectful conversations to create innovative solutions for the challenges we face.." The gathering is for women only; it is free, though we do take a donation to support women refugees. We invite men to join us in spirit as we imagine a time of harmony and respect for all living things. RSVP.

May we continue to nourish the seeds of community.

May Spring come soon!

The energy is rising--calling us to community and connection--with the land and with each other.  The farm and its circle will host a women's gathering at new moons and offer full moon gatherings for our extended community with activities designed to appeal to a broad community.

FULL MOON Gathering: Saturday, March 3 at 3:30 p.m. We plan to install the covering for the teepee (you can see the lining for the teepee in the image above.). A potluck and fire circle will follow the work. The event is free; donations are gratefully accepted, as are memberships in White Rose Farm Circle, Inc. All are welcome! RSVP.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY: Thursday, March 8, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the farmhouse, 5009 Teeter Road. Join women all over the world in a movement to embody the leadership we want to see in the world to usher in a time of harmony and peace and respect for all living things. RSVP.

GLOBAL SISTERHOOD GATHERING: Our next gathering will be on this Saturday, March 17 from 2 to4:00 p.m. at the farm, 5009 Teeter Road, Taneytown. MD.  Marie Monn will lead the program with the theme: Empathy and Intuition: I trust what I feel and I follow my guidance. The event is free. We will collect donations to support women refugees. RSVP.

A TIME TO BE: A Woman's Retreat:  Our next retreat will be Saturday, March 24, from 10:30 to 3:30 p.m. We gather as the seasons change to honor the rhythms of nature and the rhythms of our lives. Cost? $25 or $15 for first-timers. Click here to register.

Teepee rising! Thanks to Joe Camlin, Richard Swerling and Rod Smith (who lent us a  draw knife), we prepared the long maple poles, (harvested from the farm),  lifted them, tied them and then anchored the frame into the ground with rope. We plan to install the covering at our next full moon celebration on Saturday, March 3 at 3:30 p.m. with a potluck and fire circle following the work. The event is free; donations are gratefully accepted. All are welcome! RSVP.

GLOBAL SISTERHOOD GATHERING: Our next gathering will be on this Thursday, February 15 from 7 to 9:00 p.m. at the farm, 5009 Teeter Road, Taneytown. MD.  Renee Deiaco will lead the program with the theme: Inspired Vision: I serve the world with love and wisdom.  The event is free. We will collect donations to support women refugees. RSVP.

FULL MOON: At our last full moon event, folks who came simply stood and watched the moon rise. It was simple; it was spectacular; it was humbling. Later, we stood around the bonfire as we prepared the site for the teepee.

We plan to install the covering for the teepee at our next full moon celebration on Saturday, March 3 starting at 3:30 p.m. A potluck and fire circle will follow the work. The event is free; donations are gratefully accepted. All are welcome! RSVP.

We imagine  inviting our extended community to events at the full moon as a way of building community. We hope to plan activities that will promote safe space for our children and grandchildren. For instance, we could organize a day when men take the lead in building smaller teepees that they could erect in their own back yards--a safe place for their children to sit and dream.
