Quiet comes to the country; you come too!

The leaves have been delivered and spread; the produce stored--all preparing for the quiet interior time of winter. What a wonderful time to come to the farm for retreat! Last year, a husband gave his wife a gift certificate for an overnight stay at the Retreat House--a gift she enjoyed midsummer. As the news gets more distressing, finding and making space to explore an interior landscape is ever more essential--and the Retreat House at White Rose Farm provides a welcoming setting.

A Celebration: Friends suggested that we hold events to honor the ending of the chapter with me as primary farmer at White Rose Farm. We have planned such an event for Saturday, December 16 at 2:30 p.m., immediately following a membership meeting of the White Rose Farm Circle at 4234 Ruggles Road, Taneytown. We will hold a second celebration on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Share stories and images of your favorite memories of me at the farm as I prepare to welcome a new farmer or farmers to the farm by spring, 2018.

LONG-RANGE PLANNING: The Board of White Rose Farm Circle has just renewed its commitment to a  vision of developing a model of community that empowers people to work together to restore health to the land, the natural world and each other. The Circle will begin to plan for the 2018 season in January. Interested in being involved? Let me know!

In the meantime, our events continue:

A TIME TO BE: A Woman's Retreat:  Our next retreat will be Saturday, December 16 from 10:30 to 1:30 p.m. We gather as the seasons change to honor the rhythms of nature and the rhythms of our lives. Cost? $25 or $15 for first-timers. Click here to register.

GLOBAL SISTERHOOD GATHERING: Our next gathering will be on Monday, December 18 from 7 to 9:00 p.m. at the Retreat House, 4234 Ruggles Road. Renee Deiaco will lead the program and include Radiant Lotus Qigong.

Quiet time is starting....

Hazel is back! She is pregnant and due midwinter. Our thanks to Leah Mack, at whose farm Hazel and Daisy spent the summer with a virile bull.  Now we want to find Daisy, a pure-bred Jersey, a new home. She is pregnant and due mid-spring. Interested? Please contact me. Thanks. Sally
